A perennial decumbent herb up to 60cm high from a woody rootstock. (Ogbochukwu, 2005).

i. Roots as ingredient of concoction used as remedy for uterine fibroid
ii. Decoction of root used as remedy for gonorrhoea.
iii. Dried powdered leaves mixed with maceration extract of Tamarindus indica fruits used as for gonorrhoea, chronic gonorrhoea and syphilis.
iv. Shoot decoction used as remedy for helminthes infestations.
v. Dried shoot as ingredient of decoction used as remedy for AIDS.
vi. Infusion of dried leaves used as purgative.
vii. Filtrate from root decoction as remedy for gonorrhoea, chronic gonorrhoea and syphilis.
viii. Dried shoot as ingredient of concoction used as remedy for body swellings (oedema)
ix. For scorpion sting (Ogbochukwu, 2005)
