Course Content:
(1) introduction to molecular biology
(2) Nucleic acid extraction, purification and quantification
(3) DNA, RNA extraction and quantification
(4) Introduction to NanoDropC
(5) Conventional PCR, Real time PCR (qPCR) and Reverse Transcriptase PCR, Primer Designs.
(6) DNA sequencing (Sanger & Next Generation), Deposition of sequence in gene bank
(7) Multiple Sequences Alignment, BLAST
(8) Phylogenetic Analysis
(9) Presentation by Inqaba and Cleaver scientific
Registration:
The workshop is going to be in two parts;
Part 1: (20 participants), 13th -19th June, 2021
Part 2: (20 participants), 21st -26th June, 2021
The registration is based on first come first serve. The first 20 participants that registers and gets confirmation will be in part 1 while the rest will join the part two.
NOTE: Participants are encouraged to come with a laptop.
